Warranties

Limited Registered Warranties

On May 1, 2009, American Standard Heating and Air Conditioning began a new manufacturer’s warranty program.
There are now (2) types of warranties available to your customers.

  1.  “Registered warranty”. The Limited Registered Warranty is NOT transferrable. However, any remaining base warranty is transferrable, at no charge, to subsequent homeowner.
    • If the homeowner (or the dealer) registers a system on-line at americanstandardair.com
    • If the homeowner calls Customer Service @ 1-800-554-8005
    • If the homeowner (or dealer) completes and faxes the Application Form (see attached)
    • If the selling dealer provides or sells an extended warranty to the homeowner, and then registers the extended warranty by fax or ASDealerNet, the homeowner is automatically registered with American Standard for the “registered” warranty. This MUST be done within 60 days of installation.
  2. Base, Non-Registered warranty
    • If the equipment is not registered within 60 days, either on-line, call, fax or by extended warranty application, the homeowner will be eligible for the “base warranty” only.
      No exceptions.

Added-Value Benefit for Customer Care Dealers Only – Registered Warranty Only

  1. Within 60 days of installation on registered Allegiance/Heritage 16,18, 20 split systems, the Customer Care Dealer may provide a new outdoor unit upon compressor failure (electrical or mechanical failure to pump) as long as the dealer agrees to concession the labor.
  2. In addition, if the heat exchanger fails in the Freedom 95 or 80 Comfort -R, matching registered furnace installed as part of the Allegiance/Heritage 16, 18, 20 system within 60 days of installation, the Customer Care Dealer may provide a new, replacement furnace as long as the dealer agrees to concession the labor.

NOTE:  If the system is not an ARI Matched System, you must enter each component separately to qualify for the maximum registered warranty. An American Standard thermostat MUST be registered as part of the System to qualify for the maximum registered warranty. Verify the coverage information is accurate based upon the following chart BEFORE accepting the final coverage!


Extended Warranties

IMPORTANT: PLEASE REVIEW the Limited Warranty Q&A and the Warranty Overview Brochure above. There have been additional changes and clarifications made that may contradict information you have already received.

 

Question: Does registration for an extended warranty automatically register a homeowner for the Limited Registered Warranty?

Answer: Yes, but only if the extended warranty terms are longer than 10 years.
